Database Backup
General Information
IDatabase Backup creates SQL Script Files you can load with SQL Console into the same or another database.
The backup process is done by the utility mysqldump. This utility must be installed to run a successful backup and the database user used to connect to the database must have sufficient access privileges to run mysqldump.
Backup scheduling
To make a backup on a regular basis first test all your settings by clicking "Run Backup". Check the resulting file to see if it is the result you expected.
After you made sure the backup settings are correct click on "Save Script" and choose a location accessible to your user but not to any other users. The access privileges to the directory are important because the resulting script file will contain all necessary logon information to perform the backup (including the password).
To create a schedule for your backup go to Jobs -> User Job List and add a new entry. Enter appropriate time and date parameters. In the Command field enter the complete path to your saved script.
